This modern fantasy book is great for English! It helps our littles (second grade) to recognize and learn rhyming styles! Personally, I would teach a lesson on rhyming styles such as end rhyme, slant rhyme, and rich rhyme. Then, I would read the story to them and finish off by finding rhyme in the book and deciphering what type of rhyme it is.
