It's a little monster's birthday and her friends are coming to celebrate! One arrives, then two, then there's three. Soon, there's fifty monsters at the birthday party!! It's too many for the birthday monster's mom, so she sends them away till only the birthday girl is left along with a mess. Everything's alright though because it was the best birthday ever!!!

Illustrations crazier than your wildest dreams, this book motivates our littles to keep reading and counting with funny looking monsters aplenty!

This picture book is great for math! It helps our littles (kindergartners) to recognize and learn number sequence through adding the monsters one by one until they get to ten. Then counting by 10's all the way to fifty, and then doing the same backwards by subtracting. Personally, I would read the book to my students and ask them to count up and down with me out loud as we read the book. We'd take time to look at the monsters for entertainment purposes, of course! Once we finished reading the book, I would review by asking students to call out the next number until we got to ten and then what number we get when we add ten more.
